There is a battle brewing in Whistler. A battle for a crown. Whistlerites are eyeing each up; strategies, schemes and surprise maneuvers are being put into place. This year, the gloves are coming off and it isn’t going to be pretty.
Icon Gone is a no-holds barred, trash talking, passionate and lively not-to-be-missed event. Members of Whistler’s local community take to the stage in a fight to the death (okay, not really) to defend the honour of a Whistler Icon. Be there and be dazzled by the rhetoric, the wit and the utter disregard for fair play. Audience participation is not only encouraged, it’s pretty much mandatory!
Who will be victorious? Who will achieve true greatness and win the coveted, yet elusive, Icon Gone Crown? What will be this year’s Icon? Will it be squatters’ cabins or the mountain bike? The Dave Murray Downhill or the Whistler Answer? Or will it be rain that washes away the competition? The only way to find out is to attend Icon Gone 2010!
This year’s valiant warriors include:
- Shauna Hardy-Mishaw
- Kevin Demaskie
- Cathy Jewett
- Mike Berard
- Nicole Fitzgerald
- Andrew Mitchell
- Stephen Vogler
To referee the verbal bloodshed, the incomparable, cheeky and hilarious Maureen Douglas will once again be gracing the stage of Icon Gone.
Presented in conjunction with the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival. All ticket sales go to the Whistler Museum and Archives Society.
