Exhibit Postponed

August 14th, 2019
Due to unforseen circumstances (as well as the need to use the space for other projects at the moment) our temporary exhibit, Gaining Traction: The History of Mountain Biking in Whistler, has been postponed.  We will have new exhibits opening in the fall, and will be opening Gaining Traction in Spring 2020.  We thank you for your understanding.

Walking Tours July 1

June 28th, 2019
The Valley of Dreams Walking Tour will be canceled Monday, July 1 for Canada Day.  Discover Nature Tours at Lost Lake will run at 11am as usual.  All tours will resume at 11am Tuesday, July 2.  The Whistler Museum will be open from 1-5pm July 1.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Late Opening July 1

June 28th, 2019
The Whistler Museum will be opening late at 1pm on Monday, July 1 so that we can participate in the Canada Day Parade!  We apologize for any inconvenience and will be open at our usual time on Tuesday, July 2.

Early Closure Thursday, June 6

June 5th, 2019
The Whistler Museum will close early at 5pm Thursday, June 6.  We apologize for any inconvenience and will resume regular hours Friday, June 7.

Whistler Mountain Bike Heritage Week 2019

In celebration of the trails, talent and passion that makes mountain biking in Whistler special the Whistler Museum will be hosting the 4th annual Whistler Mountain Biker Heritage Week June 6 - 12.  Check our page under Events here for more information on presentations, workshops, film screenings and more!

Whistler Museum AGM 2019

We'll be holding our AGM Wednesday, June 5, 6 - 7:30 pm at the Whistler Museum.  Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting (though only members get to vote) and following barbecue!  If you know you will be attending, please RSVP by calling the museum at (604) 932 2019 or by emailing Allyn at events@whistlermuseum.org.

Finding A Place: A History of Housing in Whistler

Our latest temporary exhibit Finding A Place: A History of Housing in Whistler opens this Friday, May 31!

Looking at the different ways people have made a home in the valley over the past century, the exhibit will run from May 31 to July 31.

Doors open at 6:30 pm.  Cash bar & free admission.

Whistler Museum Closures April 2019

April 13th, 2019
The Whistler Museum will be closed Friday, April 19.  We will also be closing early at 3pm on Tuesday, April 16 for a private event.
The Museum will be open as usual all days not mentioned above.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Whistler's Lakes: Records of Environmental Change

April 2nd, 2019
Thursday, April 11 Dr Ian Spooner will be at the museum to show how lake sediment records are obtained and analyzed and discuss what they can tell us about both the resilience and vulnerability of Alta Lake and Lost Lake to future environmental change.  He hopes that everyone who has an interest in or a story to tell about our lakes can attend!

Whistler's World Cups: From Fiasco to Fiesta

March 20th, 2019
Thursday, March 28 Rob Boyd and Alex Kleinman will join us at the museum to talk about what went into putting on these races, what it was like to experience the multi-day events and how one run became a celebrated moment in our town's history.

Doors open at 6:30 pm and the talk will begin at 7 pm.  Tickets are available at the Whistler Museum.  $10 or $5 for Museum or Club Shred members.
