Kids Après: March Break

March 27th, 2018
Kids Après at the museum is back for March break this year!  Come by March 30 - April 2 from 3 - 6pm for colouring, button-making, LEGO, hot chocolate and, of course, exploring our exhibits.
Entry to the museum is by donation.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Saudan Couloir: The History of North America's Most Extreme Ski Race

March 13th, 2018
With the Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme returning this April we're taking a look back at the original run of the legendary race.  This new exhibit open Tuesday, March 20 with special guests Dave Clement, Chris Kent and more.  The exhibit will run through the end of April.

Doors open at 6 pm.  Free admission.  Cash bar.

Naming Night at the Museum

The Whistler Museum is asking for your help identifying the subjects in some of the photographs in our collections.  Whether you're new to Whistler or a long-time local, a full time resident or a frequent visitor, everyone is invited to help us fill in the blanks for images from the 1950s through the early 2000s.

Friday, March 9. 7-9 pm.
Free admission.

Ski Rainbow: Whistler's Other Ski Hill

We're excited to announce our next Speaker Series event will take place Friday, January 26.  Join Tom Jarvis and John Lee as they share their tales of the Rainbow Ski Village!  We might even have some never before seen photos of the famous Rainbow Ski Jump to share!
Tickets: $10 ($5 for Museum Members and Club Shred), available at the Whistler Museum.

People of Whistler: Opening Thursday December 14

As a relatively young town Whistler is lucky to have so many people instrumental to its early foundations still here today, some of whom are highlighted in this portrait project.  The Whistler Museum is excited to work with local photographer Eric Poulin to present People of Whistler, a new exhibit on some of the many figures who built the Whistler we all know today.

Big Kids LEGO Building Competition 2017

You're never too old for LEGO!  The Big Kids LEGO Building Competition is back Tuesday, December 5!  Preregister by coming by the Museum or giving us a call at 604-932-2019.  For more information check here.

Competition begins at 6:30 pm.  $10 to register (includes 1 drink ticket).  Spectators are welcome.

Crevasses & Crags: Tales from the Coast Mountains

We're excited to announce that we'll be hosting an additional Speaker Series outside of our regular run on Wednesday, November 15!  Join Arnold Shives and Glenn Woodsworth to hear their tales of mountaineering in the Coast Mountains with Dick Culbert.

The Whistler Question: A Photographic History 1978-1985

September 18th, 2017
The Whistler Question: A Photographic History captures the town of Whistler during a period of transition and rapid change using the photographs of the Whistler Question Collection.  This temporary exhibit will run from September 15 through November 30, 2017.
