Myrtle Philip History

Myrtle Philip: Whistler Icon
Myrtle Philip, pictured at right (top), ran Rainbow Lodge on the west side of Alta Lake, where the present day Rainbow Park is located, with her husband Alex until they sold it to Alec and Audrey Greenwood in 1948. Myrtle continued to live in Whistler until her death in 1986 and has always been seen as a significant figure in the community. The first elementary school was named after her.
