Media Reproductions
The Whistler Museum & Archives welcomes requests from local, national and international media. If you are looking for information on Whistler’s history, please read through the Whistler History section of our website. Additional information can be found in our Online Exhibits. If you have a specific question, please send an email to info@whistlermuseum.org. A reply will be sent within a week to ten days.

Media Use of Archival Materials
Materials from the Whistler Museum and Archives can be reproduced for use in publications, websites, displays, advertising, retail products, or film and television productions.

Rights Reserved
The Whistler Museum and Archives reserves the following rights with regards to materials under its care;

  • the right to determine which materials can be used
  • the right to dictate how materials can be used
  • the right to levy fees for use of materials

Materials Request Procedures
To submit a request for materials, clients are asked to:

  1. Read the Whistler Museum & Archives Reproduction Policy.
  2. Fill out a Reproduction Services Order Form (72k PDF).
  3. Read and sign a Conditions of Use Agreement (192k PDF).

Museum Credit
Please note the Whistler Museum and Archives has very specific image credit requirements as listed on the Conditions of Use Agreement.

Fees
Reproduction orders involve two types of fees: A fee for the cost of reproducing materials and Use Fees. All clients are required to pay Reproduction Fees. Use Fees are levied depending on the intended use. Please see the Reproduction policy for details.

Use Fees may be waived in the case of a news broadcast or newspaper story only. If this is the case, please select an appropriate image from those listed in the Media Photo Gallery. Identify the image on the Reproduction Request Form and submit a signed Conditions of Use Agreement with details on the production and valid proof of media credentials.
